Cut exhaust smoke, toxic particulates and fuel consumption, plus increase power by using FTC combustion catalyst and SupaSLIP anti-friction.
How to get the most POWER & ECONOMY out of engines.
Our purpose here, is to suggest simple “do-it-yourself” ways to improve engine power & improve fuel economy, without expensive mechanical services, or add-on gadgetry. You hardly need to touch a spanner!
You can actually INCREASE POWER whilst SAVING FUEL costs of around 16% on diesel.
Many customers report higher fuel savings, probably as a result of concurrently decarbonizing the engine.
POWER & ECONOMY from engines is influenced by many interacting factors, none the least by the way an engine is operated including:
- the loads
- the terrain
- the aerodynamics of roof racks, large mirrors and sun-roofs
- open windows
- the use of air conditioning
- towing load and aerodynamics
- excessive use of 4WD, there is much less friction in 2WD
- the engine timing
- operating outside the optimum torque range
- the grade and quality of the oil
- the fuel quality
- the air supply through filters
- air density (altitude reduces oxygen)
- the air moisture content, dry air is less efficient
- vehicle tyre type and pressures
- dragging brakes
- cleanliness of the underwater parts on boats
And of huge significance, the internal cleanliness of the engine and internal friction in the engine and power train.
Stop-start running reduces economy.
Stop-start running can use several times more fuel than continuous smoother running. Stop-start running also uses more brake linings, more tyre rubber, causes more transmission wear, causes more road damage and adds enormously to air pollution .. let alone frustration to drivers.
We think those are good reasons to join us in lobbying for “green wave” traffic lights on busy city through roads.
By considering all the above points, you can usually get more power for your “fuel dollar”.
You can usually immediately increase power and at the same time improve economy by simply adding FTC combustion catalyst to your fuel and by adding SupaSLIP anti-friction additive to your engine and transmission oils .. here follows independent tests on FTC catalyst and SupaSLIP below that.
FTC power and economy independent tests:
Curtin University, Western Australia, Engineering Dept conducted tests for Fuel Technology Pty Ltd on the power and economy effects of FTC catalytic engine decarboniser added to diesel fuel. Here are the findings, with and without FTC. The tests were conducted using a Varimax dynamometer engine at 2000rpm. Fuel consumption values are corrected for density and temperature of the fuel.
SupaSLIP can also significantly improve power & economy:
The Falex Test is an internationally accepted procedure, which is used by lubricant manufacturers and should not be confused with the various test machines demonstrated at field days and the like.
The Falex test has demonstrated that the active chemical in SupaSLIP dramatically raised the load carrying ability of the base oil. The SupaSLIP active ingredient proved far superior to the ZDDP additive, which is used almost universally by major oil blenders. Perhaps the most interesting aspect is that the torque required to maintain comparable loadings on the Falex test, was substantially less using the SupaSLIP active ingredient compared to ZDDP. This clearly demonstrates reduced frictional losses and consequent fuel economy.
Engine oil 10W-30 .. the load before seizing of base oil was 1325lbs .. with added “conventional” ZDDP anti-friction 2050lbs .. with added SupaSLIP 4500lbs without seizing at 60 minutes test duration. That’s over 3.4 times more load capacity with SupaSLIP.
The torque required at maximum loads was 24, 36 and 46 lb-in respectively. Dividing the torque by the maximum load gives a “frictional factor” of 0.018, 0.017 and 0.010 respectively .. that is adding SupaSLIP reduced frictional losses by a huge 44%.
An internal combustion engine may lose 20% of its power to internal friction .. if this was cut by 44%, a fuel saving of over 8% would result. Field experiences with SupaSLIP have delivered significant fuel savings of up to 8% and more.
Dynamometer results showed a 6% power increase in a V6 Holden Commodore and a 13% power increase in a high km Nissan Navara diesel.
Reduce your Environmental Impact, cut your fuel costs and increase engine and equipment life by using SupaSLIP.
WHAT else is in it for YOU when you use FTC and SupaSLIP?
When using FTC, not only do you save fuel, you get a thorough engine “top-side” decarbonize (decoke) including fuel injector tips, cylinder head, cylinder walls, piston crowns, piston top rings, valves, EGR, turbo, exhaust manifold and catalytic converter. Plus you get less SMOKE, less WEAR, less OIL USAGE and less OIL CHANGES .. all this paid for by the savings in fuel .. and it all happens whilst you drive and without touching a spanner !!
When using SupaSLIP, not only do you save fuel by reducing friction, you get increased power from the same amount of fuel, less wear giving longer component life, cooler quieter running, smooth gear operation (including in automatics), internal rust protection and very importantly less likelihood of a mechanical seizure in the case of a catastrophic loss of oil, or coolant!
Please do your bit to greatly reduce air pollution .. cut exhaust smoke, toxic particulates and fuel consumption by using FTC combustion catalyst and SupaSLIP anti-friction.
“Tired” engine? By using FTC decarboniser plus SupaSLIP which will not only save fuel and increase engine power, they could save you an engine recondition .. but if your engine is “tired”, or you suspect worn bearings, cams, or scoured cylinders and piston rings, we suggest you also consider our DeSLUDGE super concentrated flushing oil and NanoEnergizer restorative ceramic nanotechnology for metals before you start a mechanical repair, or touch a spanner.
